COCERAL corrects the EU-28 rapeseed harvest downwards to 16.5 million t. In its June edition, the umbrella organization of European grain and oilseed traders (COCERAL) estimates the EU-28 rapeseed harvest by around 2.56% lower to 16.5 million t - compared to the previous year. The 2.63% reduction in acreage contributes significantly to the result. At 30.4 dt / ha, the expected yield is slightly higher than in the weak previous year. The production estimates are very different in the individual regions. Great harvest reductions of -36% are observed for Great Britain (1 million t ). The reason for this is the considerable drop in cultivation by more than 30%. But the yield expectations are also reduced from 32 dt / ha last year to 30 this year. In contrast, in the largest EU growing region, France, the harvest is rated 5% higher than in the previous year. With a somewhat smaller acreage, the yield increases from 31 to 33.5 dt / ha. crucial. In the second largest growing region in Germany , a harvest which is 9.2% higher is forecast at 3.1 million t . Despite low yield expectations of 32.7 dt / ha , the increase in acreage to 950,000 ha is crucial. However, this is still far below the long-term average of well over 1 million ha. For Poland , COCERAL estimates a harvest of 2.5 million t, which is 5.5 % better than in the previous year. Both a larger acreage and a slight increase in yield contribute to this. However, the previous year was characterized by severe drought. A crop of around 1.12 million tonnes is expected in the Czech Republic . Despite the improvement in yields , the harvest remains below the previous year's level because the acreage has decreased significantly. In Romania , the rapeseed crop is raised to 0.65 milliont classified mainly as a result of reduced hectare numbers. The same applies to Bulgaria with a result of 0.34 million tons. Lower harvests are expected in the Scandinavian countries. In Denmark , reduced acreage and lower yield expectations have contributed to the rapeseed harvest falling back to 0.55 million tonnes . Sweden only achieves 0.35 million tons despite an increase in acreage but due to a decline in yield. The rapeseed harvest for the EU area excluding Great Britain is only 15.45 million t.
