Second GDT auction in Nov. 2020: +1.8%% on average; Strong plus for concentrated butter The second Global Dairy Trade (GDT) auction in November 2020, with an average of +1.8%, almost regained the negative results of the pre-auction. Concentrated butter was the big winner. Whole and skimmed milk powder also gained significantly. The handling volumes have with 35,303 t stabilized. Whole milk powder (VMP) regained the pre-auction results with an average of +1.8% . In particular, the December 2020 courses have increased. The delivery months in the new year 2021 all remained in positive territory. The absolute prices of $ 3,037 / t are still above the multi-year average. Skimmed milk powder (SMP) reached + 2.5% on average to partially compensate for the poor performance of Vorauktion. With the exception of Jan. 21, all delivery months saw a price jump of + 3%. The MMP prices are with converted 2.799 $ / t still at a high level compared to the EU (2,542 $ / t) and the USA (2,336 $ / t). Butter oil made up for with an average of + 4.1% of the setbacks Vorauktionen to a considerable extent again. In particular, the months around the turn of the year increased strongly again by +13.7% and 5.6%. The other delivery dates remain in the positive range between +1.3 to 3%. The average product price of $ 4,175 / t is still in the good midfield. With an average of +0.4%, normal butter was able to maintain its high surcharges in the advance auctions. While the previous appointments were rather weaker, the last ones increased significantly. The absolute price is converted to $ 3,838 / t and is stabilizing again in the upper midfield. The latest auction results confirm a largely stable to slightly increasing price trend in the international milk market . The expectation of a favorable development in the New Year is quiteentitled.
