Since the middle of November the price index for processing potatoes is listed on the EEX in Leipzig again. This index represents the average spot market quotations for goods that are free (from farm stock) the standard varieties for prompt delivery in the Western European countries. Through this index and the futures market prices, the market is again transparent. This year will be very clear where the need is greatest, namely in Belgium and France. The two countries, which usually "shine with lower prices compared with other countries' lead the"hit list"this year. The reasons are obvious, but probably little free goods in warehouses. Comparing the cash market prices with the futures market prices, so expect to 2017 (delivery date for the Apr. 17-future) yet the surcharges for the storage period up to 16 KW. These are still 22 weeks and the storage charges are likely to hover around the 3 euro / dt. For the German origins, this means a cash market price for the 16 KW 2017 from about 24 euro / dt (21,13 + 3,00) for the standard varieties. The current base (difference cash 16 KW 2017 to derivatives) is thus less than 3 euros / dt (closing price futures market at the 17.11.2016 (27.00 euro) minus cash market price 16 KW 2017 (> 24 euro / dt). )
