Stable to slightly firmer pig prices in Europe

(AMI) In the neighbouring European countries currently stable pig prices appealing to slightly dominate. The holiday slows down in many places a further price increase, due to the reduced slaughter enough hogs are available. Pigs are however often desperately searched for the new week.

France leads the 4 day work week that the need for the abattoirs is significantly reduced. On the other hand is also a relatively small volume of weaned pigs. Apparently, quite a few animals have been brought in. Creeping price discounts in France also meant that prices are again in accordance with the foreign competitors and it is again competitive in the meat industry. The short-term price trend is unchanged. Also, no price change is expected in Spain. The limited supply of pigs is brisk demand. The domestic trade in pigs and pig meat would give a price increase. The relatively high price level can be but hardly get air for rising prices so that stable tendencies are likely. The pig market in Belgium is balanced. Battle company indicate a high demand, often search for slaughter pigs. In the Netherlands the VION dampened the price rise by only an increase of 4 cents was accepted. Insider does not exclude therefore a price correction in the stock market on Friday, because here a larger price increase was recommended for the current week.
