(AMI) Europe is the meat trade, by weak sales and faltering sales opportunities. Main holiday season, demand-inhibiting weather conditions such as heat in parts of Northern Europe and atypical erweise much rain in Italy in addition curb meat demand. On the other hand, there are not too many hogs which is why the markets at a low level can be described as balanced.
In France, the demand for pork as truncated appears to be. A below-average range of pigs meets weak demand on the part of the abattoirs. The price trend is less than claimed. Light demand are being reported in parts of Belgium in the wake of returning vacationers. Shrinking supply constraints, indicated by slightly falling slaughter weights, leads to an at least stable to slightly rising price trend. In Spain, several abattoirs working only 4 days a week. On the one hand, there is relatively little slaughter pigs, on the other hand, meat demand is very weak, despite tourism season. Continued light price weaknesses cannot be ruled out here. In Italy, the demand for pigs is slow, is still a little quiet in relation to meat demand. The meat markets in several countries seem generally to control their season-typical low. Also for Germany this is true, especially as from 31 July, Lower Saxony is in the school holidays.
