USDA forecasts increasing world canola production . Global rapeseed production is estimated at 82.5 million t (previous year: 72.3 million t). The previous slump in production in the EU-27 and last year's disaster harvest in Canada have been overcome. Canada is moving up with 20 million t production and 8.8 million t export to first place The EU-27 is supposed to harvest 17.95 million t, but still has to import 5.6 million t from Canada, Australia and the Ukraine to cover demand imports, so that prices in Germany remain comparatively high. Despite the increase in supply, international rapeseed prices remain at an above-average level. The main reason is the stabilizing palm oil prices, which are a market leader in the oilseed market .
