Vietnamese pork consumption is slightly above domestic production, so far only a few imports were necessary. About 70% of meat consumption is accounted for by pork. The per capita consumption is given as 28 kg . This is based on the determined carcass weight. It can be assumed that, given the many backyard postures, data collection is significantly less than reality.The production loss caused by the ASP has contributed to increasing imports from the EU . In the months of January to March, 23,000 tonnes have already been brought to Vietnam . As a result, EU exports rose by 90 % over the same period last year.
