Conclusion: Despite all the problems with meat sales, the live supply remains low enough to stabilize prices. In order to be able to offer sufficiently valuable fresh meat parts for the domestic market, the asking prices are paid for all sales problems with less sought-after parts of the pig. However, the market situation across Europe remains tense.
ZMP Live Expert Opinion
Despite the low supply of live meat, the weak demand for meat does not allow any upward price leeway. The courses are held with difficulty. The business of constant supply of valuable fresh meat is the mainstay for the stable price development. A stronger increase in the supply of slaughter pigs could call this development into question.
