Schweinebestände sinken - Fleischpreise könnten 2008 anziehen

Reuters, Berlin (19.12.07) - Die deutschen Verbraucher müssen sich angesichts sinkender Schweinebestände möglicherweise im nächsten Jahr auf höhere Fleischpreise einstellen.

Wie das Statistische Bundesamt am Mittwoch mitteilte, stehen derzeit rund 0,6 Prozent weniger Tiere in den Ställen als vor anderthalb Jahren. Da die Preise für Ferkel stark gefallen sind, haben die Bestände entsprechend stark um mehr als sechs Prozent nachgegeben. Wie die Zentrale Markt- und Preisberichtstelle (ZMP) Reuters mitteilte, bleiben viele Erzeuger derzeit auf ihren stark gestiegenen Kosten für Futter und Energie sitzen.
