Fertilizer prices have recently continued to rise, and availability and delivery remain difficult. Urea has increased by 195% on the spot markets over the last 12 months, Kornkali has increased in price by at least 70% in the Weser-Ems region and DAP with 18% nitrogen is up 129%. Gas prices are primarily responsible. Manufacturers such as Nutrien or K+S also report an ever-increasing demand for fertilizers. In potash mining in particular, the current production limit is unlikely to be sufficient to meet demand. Rising fertilizer prices are dampening expectations for the coming harvests.
