COCERAL 2014 EU harvest estimates a again higher
The European umbrella organisation of grain and animal feed dealers in his 3-monatig published June issue has estimated the EU crop rd. + 1 million tonnes higher to 302 million tonnes. This is the harvest results well above the average of the last 5 years. However, the record of the year 2008 with nearly 310 million tonnes is not achieved.
The higher result is 1. Line on which to return 500,000 ha increased acreage. The average yield is reset by 52.6 dt / ha to 52.4 dt / ha. However, the wheat yields are slightly better than allocated in the previous year at 58.8 dt / ha.
The Höherschätzungen were mostly in France with + 2.5 million t in Germany with + 0.7 million tonnes and in some other countries with small improvements. However, cuts off Spain co - 6 million tonnes due to the drought particularly badly. Portugal has also to expect a worse harvest. Also some South-Eastern European countries and the Baltic States have made losses.
EU wheat crop will almost reach the record level of 2008 with approximately 150 million tonnes. The EU crop of winter and summer barley is mainly due to the yield to - 8.5 million tonnes lower than in the previous year.
EU rye harvest is estimated lower rd. - 1.5 million tonnes, while the corn harvest is classified up to 1.3 million tonnes.
Compared to other institutions of treasure with an older data material is the youngest COCERAL estimate at the top. It is assumed that the favourable weather of the last few weeks will lead to Höherschätzungen also for the other institutions.
