EU COM: Harvest estimate of June 30, 2023: - 7 million t less than the previous month In its most recent estimate of the EU grain harvest 2023, the EU Commission has reduced the previous month's result of 285 million t to the current 278 million t. Production is thus only around 7.5% above the weak previous year. If the area under cultivation has not changed much, the lower yield expectations are of decisive importance. Grain consumption is classified as almost unchanged in view of the reduced number of animals. The high import volumes of the previous year are expected to decrease by 35%. On the other hand, exports will increase by 5.6%. Inventories are expected to decrease by -1.2%.
