How are the wheat prices 2017/18?

Forecast: 2017/18 grain prices rise moderately For the coming 2017/18 cereal harvest year, the forecasts for a lower supply situation are broadly the same as in the previous year. Although the overlapping stocks will be as high as 515 million tonnes as they have been for more than 20 years, the harvest 2017/18 is set to be much lower on the grounds of the decline in cultivation areas in important regions of production. Ultimately, the yield is always on, but the current weather conditions provide few reasons for far above-average results. A decisive criterion for the assessment of the global supply situation is the percentage of final consumption as a percentage of consumption .On a long-term average, this figure is 22%. In the past 3 years, figures have been reached between 23.4% and just under 25%. For the coming year, a number of leading institutions will be given a roughly 23% figure. This is still above average, but much lower than in previous years. The different supply rates can be assigned to specific price levels on average for one year . In 2013 the supply was only 18.79% and the associated producer prices for wheat were 25 € / dt. One year later the supply situation was approx. 21% and the corresponding price level reached only 19 € / dt. For the last two years with supply figures between 24.6 and just under 25%, the average price of wheat is around 16 € / dt.According to the experience gained in previous years, the estimated supply of 23% end-of- life for consumption for 2017/18 is based on a price level of between 17 and 18 € / dt . Supporting evidence of a higher price level can also be inferred from the fact that at the end of a financial year the price development already anticipates the future supply situation. This year, this experience is made particularly clear by the fact that, despite the highest global overburden volumes, international wheat prices remain stable. In the scarcely supplied EU, producer prices tend to show upward.Further support for the assessment of rising prices in the coming year will be learned from the later exchange on the stock exchanges, which show a rising trend .
