MARS corrected EU yields - estimate 2016/17 on 5-years average
The agro-meteorological Institute Commission MARS has in the Aug. 16 report the cereal yields for the EU compared to the previous month corrected downwards significantly. Estimates that the climate data in one collected 25 km grid and back closes with the help of regression calculations on the level of earnings are based on a calculation model. Regional differences can be detected in this way. The Bills yielded a Gesamtergebnis, the grain yields on A 5 year promotes back from 2011 to 2015. The average of all types of grain to 5.36 t / ha in the crop year 2016 harvested, not significantly different from the average of 5.32 t / ha. For wheat 5.63 tonnes per hectare is estimated, close to 5.6 t / ha. Something bigger is the difference in 2016 when the barley: instead of perennial 4.72 4.88 t / ha are to be achieved. Significantly the current estimate for corn settles: according to current growth 7.23 tonnes per hectare compared to be harvested average of 6.93 t / ha. But the most recent weather developments do already some concerns about the reliability of the results. The weather map shows very different conditions in the EU. There has been too little rain in the West of France . In this region, the summer fruits with a focus on suffering from corn. The heatwave in the South West of Spain developed very little effect, because the fruits of winter are already stale. Rain deficit in Northern Italy and South-Eastern European countries such as Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary and some other regions with high proportions of corn in the growing relationship will lead, however, to impairment in the income. Therefore, the high yield estimates are still carefully to interpret. Rainfall excess in Northern Poland and the Baltic States has again led to difficulties in the introduction of the harvest. These regions are drawn several times by Dewinterizing damage and drought affected. Canola yields are estimated at 5-years average of MARS. In the case of continuing current heat wave could the new sowing of rape because of insufficient threaten ground water for the germination.
