In Paris, the most traded August futures contract recorded a marginal gain. At the closing bell, the price was 225.75 euros/t, an increase of 0.50 euros/t on the Matif scoreboard. Despite a few rainy days, US corn sowing has made good progress and is 74 percent above the average of the last five years. The USDA currently estimates that 64 percent of stocks are in good or very good condition. Analysts had previously expected a figure of around 70 percent. Meanwhile, the large maize harvest is underway in Brazil. According to the agricultural authority, this is also progressing well. State 1.4 percent as in the previous year, 4.7 percent of the land has already been harvested. Prices on the Matif were hardly moving until midday.
