The most traded August contract for maize on the Paris stock exchange rose marginally to 223.50 euros/t yesterday. The daily gain thus amounted to 0.25 euro/t. The signs on the CBoT were negative. Although the slightly higher weekly ethanol production provided support, the recent good and rapid sowing of maize continues to weigh on sentiment. Analysts are divided on today's export sales. The expected range is very wide. Pre-market corn prices in Chicago are trending firmer today.
