Wheat speculators in Chicago remain net short in the reporting week ending August 18, 2015, i.e. they are still sceptical about price increases. Compared to the last reporting week, net short positions have decreased by 9,112 contracts to 3,537 net short positions, but prices remain under pressure on both sides of the Atlantic. The euro/dollar exchange rate will have an increasing influence on further price developments in the coming weeks.
In the reporting week to 18.08.2105, the net long positions of maize speculators in Chicago continue to fall. A drop of 27,493 contracts compared to the previous week results in 73,626 net long positions. Corn prices thus remain under pressure.
