On the US stock exchanges, wheat trading was mixed in the middle of the week. In Kansas City, HRW wheat for September delivery rose by 7.00 US cents to 511.50 US cents/bushel. SWR wheat in Chicago was up slightly by 0.25 US cents for September and last stood at 508.50 US cents/bushel. In Minneapolis, however, spring wheat was weaker. September contracts lost up to 1.50 US cents.
Market participants are eagerly awaiting the weekly US export report, which is expected today. According to current forecasts, analysts expect wheat exports of between 350,000 and 600,000 tons for the week ending July 31. A new international deal also provided impetus: a South Korean importer bought 60,000 tons of US wheat overnight in a private deal.
On Euronext, wheat for September gained slightly, climbing €0.25 to €193.75 per tonne.
