Wheat exports from the European Union fell by almost half last week to around 140,000 tons. In the current season, total exports now amount to 9.48 million tons, which is around 4.28 million tons less than in the same period last year. Barley exports have also risen slightly compared to the previous week. Here, the total quantity exported amounts to 1.89 million tons, which is 1.15 million tons less than in the previous year. This is due to the poorer harvest in the EU and the associated low stock levels as well as the partial lack of competitiveness due to favorable offers from the Black Sea region.
