Wheat in red territory - Russian export forecast further corrected

Wheat contracts came under pressure on the US stock exchanges and ended Tuesday's trading in the red. On the CBoT, the March contract recorded a price loss of 2.40 US cents per bushel to the equivalent of 204.41 euros per tonne. In yesterday's trading, the focus was on reports from Russia and Australia. The latest WASDE report did little to move the markets. According to the Russian consulting firm IKAR, wheat exports are expected to fall to 43 million tons, which corresponds to a correction of 0.5 million tons compared to the previous forecast. Production was also revised downwards and reduced to 82 million tons (-2 million tons). Australian export figures were also weaker than expected. According to the local statistics office, the country exported 679,112 tons of barley in December, significantly less than in the previous month. Feed barley mainly found buyers in China, followed by Saudi Arabia and Japan.

Euronext wheat followed the bearish impulses and also ended trading in the red.
