Wheat futures slump, as dollar and Russia rain hopes rise

Wheat futures may have started firmly, underpinned by the inundations in the southern US Plains, but it couldn't end that way, slumping more than 4%.

It was not so much that the fears of damage to winter wheat in a key growing region were shown to be a false alarm.
