The ISN auction on Tue, 08.04.2025 delivered a result of 2.10 €/kg in a range of 2.08 - 2.13 €/kg.
The V-price has been set at 1.95 €/kg in a range of 1.95 - 2.00 €/kg for the period from 10.04.2025 to 16.04.2025.
Slaughter pig market in Germany
ASF: A total of 1,630 ASF-infected wild boars (+71 compared to the previous week) have been found in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. For the time being, there are still 2 cases close to the border in Baden-Württemberg.
Market and price developments in selected competitor countries:
In Denmark , the comparably calculated prices of € 1.64/kg will be increased again by + 4 ct/kg in week 15, 2025.
In Belgium, the comparably calculated prices of € 1.93/kg will be raised by a further +8 ct/kg in week 15, 2025.
In the Netherlands , comparable prices of €2.0/kg will be increased by a further +7 ct/kg in week 15, 2025.
In France/Brittany , comparable prices will be raised by a further +3 ct/kg to €1.92/kg
In Italy, prices were increased by a further +3 ct to €1.56/kg LG in week 15, 2025. Domestic and foreign supply is tight for the pre-Easter demand.
In Spain, the price was increased by a further +3 ct/kg to €2.29/kg in week 15, 2025. The low domestic supply will be supplemented by imports from France and the Netherlands.
In the USA/IOWA , producer prices fell back to €1.70/kg on 7 April. Slaughter numbers have risen. Cut prices are currently reacting unevenly. The forward prices for the new front month of May-25 have leveled off at € 1.79/kg. Only limited price increases are expected in the summer months. The US tariff policy is slowing down exports.
Brazil: Producer prices have fallen back to €1.66/kg. Despite rising domestic prices, the weaker exchange rate contributed significantly to the decline. High expectations for 2025 are focused on the export business.
China: Prices are unchanged at € 2.58/kg, in line with the usual seasonal downward trend. The month of May 2025 is quoted at € 2.24/kg on the Dalian exchange; moderate price increases are only expected again in the summer months. Pork production in 2025 will remain below the previous year. Rising beef imports will be curbed in favor of pork demand.
Conclusion: Pork supply will remain tight to meet the rising pre-Easter demand. The mark-ups on prices in neighboring countries are correspondingly high. In Germany, only the upper range has been widened. One slaughter day will be canceled next week.

Rising demand in the weeks leading up to Easter meets limited supply. Slaughter figures remain at a low level. Quantities remain too low for the necessary stockpiling for the barbecue season.
Prices in neighboring production areas are largely on the rise. The EU internal market is generally in short supply.
