Conclusion: Persistently tight supply and increased demand are driving up prices without much leeway. Support is coming from the increasing demand for barbecues. Obviously, missed slaughter days do not play a decisive role in live sales.
ZMP Live Expert Opinion
Persistently low live supply, low stock levels and increasing (barbecue) demand are driving prices up again. However, the range remains very narrow. The loss of slaughter days has become less frightening in terms of price pressure in the live cattle market due to the low supply volumes.
