Market and price developments in selected competitor countries:
In Denmark , comparably calculated prices remained unchanged at € 2. 06/kg in week 27, 2025.
In Belgium, the comparably calculated prices will be reduced by -5 ct/kg to €1.99/kg in week 27, 2025.

In Italy, prices remained unchanged at €1.66/kg LG in week 27, 2025.
In Spain, the price will remain unchanged at €2.37/kg in week 27, 2025. The upward price margin seems to be almost exhausted, the high price level is slowing down export sales.
In the USA/IOWA , producer prices remained at the equivalent of € 2.09/kg on June 30. The dollar exchange rate has become even weaker at 1.177 $ = 1 €. Slaughter numbers have risen back to average levels after the holiday week. Cut prices are developing unevenly: barbecue cuts are rising, processed goods are falling. The barbecue season is in its peak phase. Forward prices for the new front month Aug-25 are at €2.13/kg. For the Oct delivery date, only €1.73/kg is quoted on the exchange.
Brazil: Producer prices have stabilized at 1.73 €/kg. Domestic prices remain firm, the exchange rate moves only slightly. Export business has recently slowed somewhat, but remains well above the previous year's level.
China: Prices have fallen further to €2.36/kg due to seasonal factors. The month of Sep-2025 is quoted at €2.20/kg on the Dalian exchange. The forward prices for the second half of 2025 signal a persistently low price level of around €2.25/kg. Sow numbers were further reduced to 39.5 million. Government stock purchases should stabilize prices.
Conclusion: Despite low live supply, the previous price level can no longer be maintained. The price average has been set back again. Support from barbecue demand remains disappointingly weak. The forthcoming holiday/vacation period is also slowing down sales with sufficient stocks. New ASF cases in NRW are causing uncertainty among exporters.
ZMP Live Expert Opinion
Demand remains very restrained: high consumer price levels are holding back demand, the effect of barbecue demand is extremely weak, the coming vacation season requires less stockpiling and cold storage stocks are well sufficient.
