ASF: A total of 2,180 ASF-infected wild boars (+17 compared to the previous week) have been found in Hesse and Rhineland-Palatinate. Further restricted areas are being reduced in some regions.
Market and price developments in selected competitor countries:
In Denmark , prices calculated on a comparable basis remained unchanged at €1.98/kg in week 23, 2025.
In Belgium, the prices calculated on a comparable basis remained unchanged at € 2.00/kg in CW 23, 2025.
In the Netherlands , comparable prices in week 22, 2025 will be increased by +1 ct/kg to €2.07/kg.
In France/Brittany , the comparable prices will remain unchanged at €1.98/kg .
In Italy, prices remained unchanged at €1.64/kg LG in week 23, 2025. Supply is sufficient to meet demand.
In Spain, the price was increased by +1 ct/kg to €2.34/kg in week 23, 2025. The upward price margin is narrowing and export sales are becoming more difficult.
In the USA/IOWA , producer prices rose to the equivalent of € 1.98/kg on 02.06. The fluctuating dollar exchange rate causes constant price changes. Slaughter figures have returned to normal seasonal levels. Cut prices have largely fallen again. Cold store stocks remain below the previous year's level. The forward prices for the new front month of July-25 are € 1.84/kg. Prices are expected to rise slightly in the 3rd quarter, but fall significantly in the 4th quarter of 2025.
Brazil: Producer prices have fallen further to €1.64/kg. This was primarily due to falling domestic prices and a slightly weaker exchange rate. The brisk export business remains the main price support.
China: Prices have fallen further to €2.44/kg. The month of July-2025 is quoted at €2.19/kg on the Dalian exchange; similar prices are traded in the summer months. In China, summer prices are at a seasonal low. Imports are showing slight upward trends at a reduced level.
Conclusion: Persistently tight live supply and stable demand are keeping prices at a high level. Support comes from the demand for barbecues. Further price increases are difficult to achieve in the sales market.
