The processing market continues to be busier. German factories are increasingly appearing as buyers on the local market. Although there is no sign of high demand, a tight supply is causing prices to rise. Accordingly, the Reka increased its listings today. Innovator is quoted at 30 euros/dt, for Fontane, Challenger and Agria 28.50 euros/dt. The price development for processing potatoes in France is less dynamic. These are still lagging behind the listings in the other three EU countries. Nevertheless, the RNM raised its listing today. While French factories continue to process contract goods, there is increasing impetus from the export business. Belgium's factories have been looking for free goods for several weeks. This is also reflected in the listing of Belgapom and Fiwap. Belgapom set a price of 30 euros/dt for Fonane and Challenger today. In Germany, the factories and marketers are increasingly offering forward contracts for the coming harvest. Because of the good prices, many market participants expect that the acreage for processing potatoes will change in the future at the expense of food.Prices on the EEX rose significantly yesterday and the April 23 contract has continued to rise until noon today. A peak of 30.80 euros/dt was traded today. The food market remains stable. Overall, the market situation is balanced. As the latest figures show, potato purchases by private households in Germany are declining and have almost reached the pre-corona level again. The organic potato market has also picked up somewhat at the turn of the year , but the prices are not developing accordingly. The decline in organic potato purchases by households in Germany was 11% lower by November 2022. In the case of conventional ware potatoes, the year-on-year reduction in purchases is 9.3 percent.
