The table potatoes continue to be harvested, but most of the tubers have probably been recovered in this country by now. Rain is hampering the last clearing operations regionally this week. Supply and demand are balanced. The needs of packers and peelers are met immediately, and prices remain at a high level. Inter-regional shipping from the north to the south has also increased slightly again. In terms of trade, field goods still dominate the market. When it comes to processing potatoes, producers are still grubbing up. Rain showers noticeably interrupt field work, especially at the end of this week. Harvest progress varies regionally, particularly in the north and parts of the west, the harvest is expected to take at least two more weeks. There is still little demand or demand from factories in this country for contract-free potatoes. Only the Innovator variety is in demand here and there and is quoted by Reka one euro higher than the previous week. The potato harvest in Belgium is significantly behind.FiWap currently puts the harvest progress at 50 to 60 percent of the original area; in the Limburg region the harvest has mostly been harvested. In the western growing areas, however, the producers are lagging far behind schedule with the clearing work. The Belgian factories supply themselves with contract goods from the field. Excess quantities are accepted, but free quantities are not sought here either. The production capacities can be well utilized. Belgapom is quoted unchanged at 10 euros/dt for Fontane. However, according to the FiWap association, other varieties such as Innovator can also achieve up to 12.50 euros/dt. A few contracts were traded on the EEX at the beginning of the week. However, yesterday and today there were no sales so far.
ZMP Live Expert Opinion
Hardly any changes on the potato market. The factories are working at full capacity and are supplying themselves with contract goods. Free quantities are therefore stored. The food market appears balanced. However, the expected exports are not yet apparent.
