The free market for processing potatoes continues to gain momentum. Offers from the field are currently significantly limited. Rain further delays the final harvest work. Because contractually secured quantities have not yet been harvested, factories rely on free goods in order to continue to utilize their capacity at the high level. That's why Reka's price quotations continued to rise. For Fontane and Challenger, 15 euros are quoted, an increase of 2-3 euros/dt. Agria achieves up to 17 euros/dt and the particularly popular Innovator variety can fetch up to 20 euros/dt. The trend of rising prices is also evident in Belgium. Heavy rainfall in some cases means that the harvest is making little progress. Furthermore, up to 20 percent of the tubers have not yet been cleared. The supply is also limited here, contracted goods are missing because they have not yet been cleared. Accordingly, prices on the free market are also rising. For Fontane and Challenger, Belgapom increased its quotation today by 3 euros/dt to 15 euros/dt. There is also significantly better demand in France. In the southern growing areas the potato harvest is completely over, in the northern ones the harvesters often stop and rainfall makes it difficult for the machines to make any progress.Whether all the potatoes will even be harvested here remains to be seen and is questionable. As a result, the demand for free quantities is increasing here too and the RNM was able to increase its prices for Innovator by one euro to 13 euros/dt. There are no significant changes in the market situation on the food market. The prices remained largely unchanged this week with balanced market conditions. With low sales, the potatoes for April 2024 on the EEX are trending weaker today.
