GDT auction from July 15, 2014:-8.9%!
The recent auction action by global dairy Trade Center July 2014 has ended with a price decline of - 8.9% across all products and delivery months. Since the mid-Feb 2014 accumulate the recent price reductions on approximately 31%. Thus the long-standing average value is broken down.
Biggest price loser were whole milk powder-10% and skimmed-milk powder - 7.1% - 10.9%, Butterreinfettmit. Cut the remaining products although in terms of price not too bad, but their volumes are too low to accommodate a resounding balance.
The whole milk powder offered exclusively by FONTERRA has cut off worse the before auction with the exception of Jan. 15 in all months by the 10%.
The butterfat offered only by FONTERRA had to accept in the front delivery date from Sept. 14 significant losses. The back months at the turn of the year were slightly less bad.
AMUL (India), ARLA (DK;FONTERRA (NZ), Sweden), DAIRY AMERCA (United States) and EURO SERUM (Holland.) were the suppliers of skimmed milk powder. The prices for Aug. 14 shipments were valued at 0.9%, but the additional meetings had to accept price declines between-4 and -8%.
The German dairy Ammerland with sweet buttermilk powder will attend the GDT auction from September 2014.
Demand from China and supply increasing, competition from Europe and the United States have been the main factors affecting the result. The price level has reached a level that strongly reminds of the situation of the year 2012. It remains questionable whether the current price level can be kept given generating again running from August in Oceania.
