After the losses of the previous days, rapeseed prices on the Matif showed gains again yesterday. The front month increased by EUR 4.50 per ton. Little changed in the European market data yesterday. Rapeseed remains scarce and sunflowers are also still scarce due to the armed conflicts. Yesterday's correction in crude oil dragged soybeans down with it. Soybean sowing is currently progressing slowly. Typically 24% of the beans are planted at this point. However, as of May 8th, the USDA reports a progress of only 14%. This is only 4% more than in the previous week. However, better weather prospects in the Corn Belt could bring an improvement in sowing conditions this week. Soybeans are firmer premarket.
