Prices for rapeseed fell again on Thursday. On the Paris exchange, the leading May contract went south by EUR 6.50/t. On the cash markets in this country, too, prices are falling when sales are low. Yesterday, however, Canola showed little change at the ICE in Winnipeg. Vegetable oils were mostly under pressure yesterday. Exchange-traded prices for soybean and palm oil also fell. Europe's importers have meanwhile imported 6.36 million tons of rapeseed (+2.35 million tons compared to the previous year). Sunflower imports reached a volume of 2.05 million tons (+1.61 million tons). Much more rapeseed meal and sunflower meal was also imported compared to the previous year, while soybean imports and soybean meal imports are falling. The soy complex was mixed yesterday. The front month for beans fell, the follow-up contracts increased slightly. Soybean meal rose $3.40 to $463.60/short ton (EUR 461.63/t). Last week's US export bookings are higher than last week's bookings at 364,500 tons. The grain exchange in Rosario lowered its forecast for the Argentine harvest again by 4 million tons to 23 million tons.For Brazil, Conab expects a harvest of 153.6 million tons, 2 million tons more than the last estimate.
