In its third harvest estimate for 2022, the German Raiffeisen Association (DRV) reduced its forecast for wheat and barley production. The corn forecast turned out to be better than the previous estimate, but is well behind the expectations of the DRV analysts compared to the earnings from the previous year. For rapeseed, the DRV expects a hectare yield of 35.3 t/ha. This is a little less than in the preliminary estimate, but due to the higher acreage of 8.6% compared to the previous year, the rapeseed harvest should be 9.4% higher than in the previous year. According to the DRV, the production cuts are primarily due to the lack of precipitation in recent weeks. In eastern Germany in particular, the stocks urgently need rain.
