European traders announced today that they have export operations in a volume of 722,000 tonnes of common wheat for the week ending 24.04.18. Soft wheat exports thus increase to 16.34 million tonnes in the current marketing year 2017/18. Compared to the previous year, this is a decrease of 22%. Together with wheat flour, durum and durum meal, exports totaled 17.85 million tonnes versus 23.09 million tonnes at the same time in the 2016/17 marketing period. Barley exports totaled 4.7 million tonnes on April 24, an increase of + 3% yoy. Maize has so far been imported in a total volume of 14.1 million tonnes. One year ago, at this time, it was 9.55 million tonnes (+ 48%).
