In the Ukraine, the analysts of the local grain association UGA expect grain and oilseed production of 66 million tons. The result is thus significantly below that of the previous year (-40%). The wheat harvest should amount to 19.2 million tons and cannot match the result of the previous year of 32.2 million tons. A production of 26.1 million tons is expected for corn (about 40% below the previous year's level). In the case of oilseeds in particular, such as sunflowers, even more significant losses are expected. The harvest volume for sunflower seeds is said to be around 9 million tons, and rapeseed could reach a production volume of 1.5 million tons. However, the ongoing geopolitical conflict with Russia in particular could continue to have a negative impact on the harvest prospects. There is a lack of labour, logistics and resources.
