In Paris, the futures did not find a uniform direction at the start of the week. The May date recorded a profit of 1.25 euros/ton and thus maintained the 400 euro mark. On the Chicago Stock Exchange, prices were unable to break away from the bears and continued to fall in volatile trading. Above all, the continuing weakness in US export business weighed on the market. By last Thursday, these totaled 290,000 tons (loaded) and were thus well below the result of the previous week (-150,000 tons). Cumulatively, exports reached a volume of 18.7 million tons and are thus below the previous year's level (-19%). The condition of the US winter wheat fields has not yet improved. Only 27% of all holdings are in good to very good condition.
