The corn contracts on Euronext/Matif followed their previous trend yesterday and fell accordingly in price. The front month lost EUR 3.25 and closed the second trading day of the week at EUR 288.50/t. Corn prices have also recently fallen on the cash markets. The EU-27 have until 4.12. 12.64 million tons of corn imported. In the last week alone, a quantity of almost 520,000 tons of corn was imported. Corn contracts on the CBoT also fell again. Although the USDA was able to correct the export figures for October upwards, around 49 percent less corn was exported compared to October 2021. This is also justified with a slower start to this year's harvest. The other factors influencing maize are currently showing different signs. Although soybean prices are clearly catching up, falling wheat prices and sharply falling crude oil prices are putting pressure on prices.
