Agritel estimates that Russia exports only 31.5 million tons of wheat

The French grain market analyst Agritel estimates that Russia will export only 31.5 million tonnes of wheat in the 2018/19 season. Last year, it was a record volume of 42 million tons. This year the weather conditions were far from optimal.
In a recent market analysis, Agritel reiterated its June harvest forecast for Russia, which states that Russia produced 67.4 million tonnes of wheat this year (previous year: 85 million tonnes).
Russia is the world's largest exporter of wheat and a smaller crop leads to rising prices and speculation that export restrictions may exist.
