The political unrest in the Ukraine and the persistent drought in the Schwarzmeeregion prompted the French analyst Agritel, to reduce the crop estimates for the Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.
The estimate of the wheat harvest for the whole region was reduced to 81.5 million tons to 4 million tons. That would be a decline of more than 9% in comparison with the wheat harvest in 2013.

Wheat harvest in Russia: 48.1 million tonnes (- 1.8 million tons)
The corn reduced the estimate to 3.9 million tonnes to 33.1 million tons. That would 2013 a decrease of 14.2% compared with the corn harvest.
