Egypt's agricultural quarantine Authority announced today that it would accept import wheat embellished of up to 0.05% of ergot. A corresponding decision was made by the Ministry, so Ibrahim Imbaby, head of the quarantine authority, told Reuters. Egypt is the world's largest wheat exporter. In the past few months, a series of wheat shipments were rejected because the State quarantine authority which is subordinate to the Ministry of agriculture, insisted on a zero tolerance limit for the ergot.
