Algeria's state-owned grain trader OAIC bought around 600,000 tons of wheat yesterday with an international tender.
Prices from $ 226-227 / ton c & f are quoted. More details should be announced today. However, the information is only an estimate, as Algeria itself does not disclose any details.
The invitation to tender was valid for the delivery period May 1 - 15 and May 16 - 31, April 1 - 15 and April 16 - 30. April if the grain should come from South America.
Algeria prefers to buy in Europe and then mostly from France.
With the last tender on February 11, the OAIC bought around 600,000 tons of ground wheat at a price of $ 237.5 and $ 237.75 / ton.
