Algeria's state-owned grain purchaser OAIC bought over 400,000 tons of durum wheat today, according to European traders. According to initial estimates, the price paid for this on a c & f basis is between USD 333 and 335 per ton. Durum wheat of optional origin was sought, but the sources of purchase are expected to be Mexico, Canada and possibly the United States. The delivery should take place in the period April 1st to April 15th and April 16th to 30th.
Algeria does not disclose the results of its tenders and reports are based on estimates by market experts.
