Algeria buys 550,000 - 600,000 tons of wheat

Algeria's state grain buyer OAIC bought an estimated 550,000 - 600,000 tons of wheat in an international tender last night, European traders reported this morning. The price was therefore mostly around $ 275.50 to $ 276 per ton of c & f. More details on quantities and prices are expected later today.

Market participants believe that around half of the delivery could come from the north of the EU (Baltic States, Poland and Germany. The other half could come from France.
Algeria made its last purchase just last week. In a tender on October 14, around 600,000 tons were purchased, the lowest price being USD 263.50 per ton of c & f. The OAIC does not publish details of its grain tenders and the results reported by traders are estimates.
