The Algerian state-owned grain company OAIC yesterday launched a tender for the purchase of a nominal 50,000 tons of ground wheat from the world market.
As a rule, the OAIC then buys significantly more than the specified amount.
The offers for this must be received by tomorrow and should be valid until May 13th. The grain from any surplus regions is said to be in the period from 16.-31. July and from 1-15 Be loaded in August. Should deliveries from South America come into play, the loading time would be the 16th to 30th July and 1-15 July.
Algeria is a major customer for wheat from France.
