In Paris, wheat prices were able to make up part of their losses from the previous days and were quoted firmer again. The May date increased by EUR 5.00/ton to EUR 362.50/ton. Meanwhile, it is reported from Ukraine that wheat sowing has started in around 11 out of a total of 24 regions. This corresponds to an area of 22,500 hectares of spring wheat. In the US, wheat futures are also back in the green. Despite the negotiations, the situation in Ukraine has not eased, fueling the mood to buy again. The USDA releases the much-anticipated area seeding report for this season today. Many market participants expect the area to be expanded to up to 19.34 million hectares. That would correspond to an increase of 160,000 hectares compared to the February forecast.
