APK Inform expects 26 million tons of corn in Ukraine

Even yesterday there was no consistent direction for corn on Euronext/Matif. The most traded March contract closed with a setback of 0.25 euros/t at 205.75 euros/t, the following June contract left the trading session unchanged at 212.00 euros/t. Trading on the cash markets remains manageable even at the weekend. Feed mills only show sporadic interest. On the other hand, biogas plants are currently purchasing more, especially in southern Germany, the silage maize harvest was higher than the grain maize harvest compared to the previous year and buyers are taking advantage of the opportunity to fill their warehouses. For Ukraine, the consulting firm APK-Inform expects a higher corn harvest than before in an estimate updated yesterday. Instead of 24.8 million tons, the consulting firm now expects production of 26 million tons. According to estimates, the harvest in Ukraine is ¾ harvested. Chinese buyers are reported to have ordered 66,000 tons of feed corn from Ukraine this week. There was no trading on the CBoT yesterday. Because of the Thanksgiving holiday, the trading tables remained empty. This afternoon the CBoT will restart shortened trading.
