Argentina's soybean cultivation will shrink in the coming season by 4%, as more corn is grown. Analysts have this assessment because the Government in Buenos Aires has completely managed to export tariffs on corn last year.
Argentina is the third largest supplier of corn and soybeans in the world. Both cultures be ordered next month in the Argentine pampas, if this is where spring begins. This is the first full planting season under the Regency of Mauricio Macri, the right after his inauguration in December last year the 20% rate of duty for maize has abolished.
The land expansion in maize will affect inversely proportional on the soybean acreage, said the President of the Association of soybean producers. His estimation of soybean cultivation will drop 2016/17 by 2.5% to 19.7 million hectares in the season.
Now even no export duties for more corn is collected but for soybeans, still one inch by 30%, will be lowered by 5% every year, applies to Marci. Association representatives suggest that that is detrimental for soybeans.
The Buenos Aires grains Exchange forecast a corn acreage of 4.5 million hectares, which is a plus of 25% compared with the previous year.
