The Argentine Government announced last Thursday that the acreage under wheat 2016/17 will be extended this year to 5.3 million hectares for the harvest. That would be the largest acreage for nine years. At the beginning of the field orders, analysts were assumed by 4.5 million hectares because in April the order of arable land made heavy falls in active.
Also, the local agriculture Ministry has raised its estimate for the corn crop 2015/16 of 37 million tonnes to 37.9 million tonnes.
Agricultural production and exports from the South American country have increased considerably since the beginning of the economic-liberal President Mauricio Macri, as shown in the expected area extension for wheat.
Argentina is one of the major wheat exporters and is the world's four largest corn exporter.
