For now, Argentina will not impose lower export tariffs on its soybeans. The state deficit does not allow such a step, according to the local Ministry of Agriculture.
Actually, it was planned that the export tariffs of currently 27.5% in the next two years to reduce by half a percentage point each month. The farmers expected that by the end of 2019 a continuous reduction will take place.
Currently all his options on the table and the politicians want to negotiate in the coming days also on the soya export tax, said a ministry spokesman.
But local media already report that the decision has already been made.
President Mauricio Macri had spoken in a speech about the need for a lower trade deficit, otherwise the International Monetary Fund would stop financing it.
