Argentine farmers are planning wheat acreage of 5.9 million hectares due to increased prices and better weather conditions following the months-long drought for the 2018/19 season. This was reported by the Buenos Aires Grains Exchange last night. In the 2017/18 season, wheat was cultivated on an area of 5.7 million hectares. However, if the weather conditions worsen during the sowing period, the sowing area could drop to 5.4 million hectares. In the crop year 2017/18, the South American country harvested the record amount of 17.75 million tons of wheat.
