The Euronext corn was able to remain in the profit zone yesterday and recorded slight gains. A similar course of trading was seen on the Chicago Stock Exchange. Here, however, the front month had to give way by 3.25 US cents/bushel to 753 US cents/bushel. In the Ukraine, only 3.3 million hectares are expected to be cultivated this season. In the previous year, 5.4 million hectares were cultivated. In Texas, corn sowing is proceeding without major delays. According to the USDA, around 42% of the planned areas have been laid so far. Sowing in Brazil is also progressing well. Only 2% of the areas have to be cultivated. It is reported from Argentina that corn exports have totaled 18.8 million tons and are thus well above the level of the previous year.
